Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate in AMSF competitions?

AMSF competitions are open to students who are eager to deepen their understanding of mathematics and science. We offer divisions for middle school and high school students, as well as an advanced division for those ready for university‑level challenges. Eligibility may vary by division; check the Competitions page for the latest age and grade requirements.

We strive to keep fees low to ensure broad access. A small per‑student fee covers materials, grading and administration, and is often paid through the member school. Scholarships and fee waivers are available for students with financial need; teachers or parents can request these during the registration process.

What does it cost to enter?

Schools can become official AMSF member schools, granting their students exclusive access to our competitions. Membership comes with benefits such as unlimited student registrations, access to teaching resources and recognition on our website. Administrators should visit the Partnership page to learn about membership tiers and submit an inquiry.

How can schools partner with AMSF?

f you have any questions not covered here, you can reach us via our contact form on the Contact page or email us at info@advmathsci.org. We aim to respond to inquiries within two business days.

How do students register for competitions?

Registration is handled through our partner schools. If your school is an AMSF member, your students will see it listed on the registration page and can sign up directly through our online portal during the registration period. If your school isn’t yet a member, encourage an administrator to explore our Partnership page to learn how to join.

Each competition season follows four stages:

Registration – Students sign up through their school during the open registration window.

Qualifying Round – An online challenge tests reasoning and creativity.

School‑Based Exam – Qualifiers take a proctored, multiple‑choice exam hosted at their member school.

Final Round – Top performers are invited to compete in person and are recognized with certificates, awards and scholarships.

How are the competitions structured?

Yes. The Advanced Mathematics and Science Foundation is a registered nonprofit organization, and donations are tax‑deductible to the extent permitted by law. After making a donation, you will receive an email receipt for your records.
