Our Process

Register

Sign up online during the registration period. Fee waivers and scholarships are available for students in need.

Qualifying Round

Take an online competition designed to evaluate reasoning and creativity. Students tackle open-ended problems that test conceptual understanding.

School-Based Exam

Successful qualifiers sit for a supervised exam at their school or local partner site. Questions are multiple choice and based on deeper conceptual understanding.

Finals

Top performers are invited to the final round, where they compete for awards, certificates, and scholarships in Washington, DC. The event includes talks by scientists and mathematicians and a celebratory ceremony.
